Thumbs up. This is just a personal statement - I wouldn't want a grumpy naggy short tempered old man to be the President. Now, let's see what Obama's gonna do for the country. I spent one hour cleaning the ceiling fan (you can't believe the thickness of the dust that I found on the blades - it's half a centimeter!) and replaced the light ring in the hall. Leaving me alone to do such tasks is like putting me in training as a technician. Thanks to that, I now know how to change light bulbs (unlike some missys at home who doesn't do a single chore), mop floors, clean the windows and grilles (this can take one hour per room too), minimal repairs to the toilet flush canister, maintaining electrical appliances, fridge cleaning (inside and outside), and many others that readers may find too mundane to read. I dare not say I am an expert in cleaning. There are times when I make things worse too. *whistles* But, you see, people learn from mistakes. There's no manual or SOP for this job and you learn by asking/observing and doing it on your own. I salute the mothers who did a thorough good job in keeping their homes clean for their families. I understand how tough this job must have been for my mother. There's no base salary, no leaves, no MCs, no health benefits, nothing. Mothers/wives do it just 'cos of their love for their family. I am not sure if I will make a good wife when our home comes. *_* And it's only during the times when my parents are away on their holidays then can I brush up on house keeping. I have to buy the papers, water the plants and check the mail. But you know what, I feel super shiok when I see that the dust is gone and everything looks bright and clean. =D Who wouldn't want a clean environment to live in? You know, the Earth's dying. Yes yes, natural resources are depleting, global warming is imminent. But does anyone cares? For the past 4-5 billion years ago, the earth is as good as it was. It was until the age of technology rises, then everything starts to deteriorate. Can I say technology kills ? There' s no that doubt technology brings more benefits - communication, transportation, production and etc... But, in the process of bringing benefits to us humans, we are killing Earth at our expense. I start to wonder... humans will soon be extinct if we don't start to care more for this planet we are living on. We are not able to live on other planets due to the climate conditions. And even if one day we are able to leave Earth and settle on another planet... Will we also destroy that planet and move on to the next? That's scary. People, we should start protecting instead of destroying. I hope that humans can still inhabit this planet for the many billions of years to come...
