12:37 p.m. @ 31 July 2008 1055th Entry
I should have chopped off the ends sooner! More than 10cm of hair were snipped away. Now the back of my hair is much more neater! =) With regards to this entry from Icemoon, I gave my comments as below. "I am really very curious and bent on knowing the truth! Nothing but the truth! After posing many relentless questions to Icemoon, I finally understood what he was trying to relate in his account. That 'blue building' was where the photographer took the photo of the Premier Centre with 7th Storey Hotel in the 1970 National Archive photo. So, what is this blue building? It was said to be the hostel for the high ranking police officers at the former Beach Road police station. The former police station was reported to open in 1930 and together with other police stations like the ones at Maxwell Road, Joo Chiat, Kandang Kerbau, Pearl's Hill and Old Hill Street. In the old days, they were more than just police buildings as they were some of the more modern buildings in Singapore that few others could equal them. So my haunting question is... who is the photographer? And how did he get to this 'impenetrable' (not for public anyway) building without much fuss and problems? Is he, like what Icemoon said, "a photographer from government with authority" to 'trespass' police stations and up to their highest floor of their living quarters just to take this picture? My guess is that the photographer should still be alive. Let's say he was in his late teens when he took the picture, add 40-50 years to that, he should be around mid 60s to 80s this year. Erm. What I suggested to Icemoon is that, he could send an email to the National Archives to ask for more references and details of that photo. And it would be great if he can get to know the height and the year that the blue building (hostel) was opened. That would certainly solve our mystery of who and when usurped the 7th Storey Hotel." I do hope that he discover more information about this photo and the photographer and post them up soon! And I tried photographing my Revoltech figurine, Saber yesterday. She is quite pose-able though her balance is not that great. Some of you may comment on the over contrast of colors, but then again, everyone's PC is not calibrated the same way so just view the photos with the pose and expression of Saber as the main subject. (FYI, my laptop's color is not as bright as most other people, and Chin's monitor at work is super high in contrast, so that's why she said that the pics I took were over contrast. =) )
You may view my other Saber photos at http://snowskin.deviantart.com/gallery/#Dolls =) Enjoy!
