1046th Entry Day 4 - 27 June 2008 - Asakusa + Akihabara Last day of taking the train and sightseeing. Sobs!
Our breakfast!
Metro Subway train ticket.
Escalator that's way way way longer than our City Hall's.
Metro Subway Train.
How low their tracks are. They don't have barricades unlike SG's. What does this show? You think about it. ;)
Ah pek can still catch a wink even while waiting for train.
Dulan me. Cos Dan dropped my Dcam earlier on. LOL.
Soft cushioned seats. Ahhh...
For some reason, we had to top up for our train tickets.
Display at the train basement.
Big red lantern!!!
This shopping alley is a 200m stretch.
The fizzy marble drink again! This time in glass bottle!
This shop is closed just for the art painting.
Reaching Sensoji temple.
5 storey pagoda.
This slipper can kill you.
It's utterly huge.
There's shield, so it's okay to take photos.
Another hoop!
The kids who are in their elementary level are of the same height as us.
A song for the birds.
Freshly made from the oven! Warm and nice! Red bean paste pastries!
The stall selling the pastries.
Their local dog. I was reminded of Yanfen! lol!
Bochup one!
This fella here is sunbathing!
Xiao bai and ah Dan.
Time for lunch! And we must try their Sukiyaki!
Waiting area. A waitress will pick us up and our dining area is at the 3rd floor which we go up by lift! Our shoes are kept in the shelf.
Our private room! Dan unloads his bag.
This phone works! You use this phone to call the waitress to settle bill.
Namiki room.
Cold dish. It's good lor!!!!!
Aromatic green tea.
First round!!!
2nd round!!
Can you smell that!
Tiny shroom! How cute!
Cleanse your mouth sort of tea. It has a ko-hee (coffee) aroma but Dan said it was not. Grrr.
Our Boss is drinking it up.
ICE CREAMMMMMMM-U!!! Vanilla and .. I think it was passion fruit. Ah, it just tasted too heavenly to define its taste.
Lookie, it doesn't melt easily! This was taken after I took the video of Dan.
The sincere waitress. She passed Dan the bill and left the room for our privacy. This is top service! In Singapore, the staff will always stand beside you and hog you for the bill. Like as if we will run away and not pay up! No privacy! Tsk! Singapore should learn from Japan!
Shoe tag.
Chinya is the name. Located on the left of the big red lantern. The bill was not that high too! I expected something above SGD180 but it was only SGD120 for 2! Dan said he is willing to pay for such top quality service. I remember that time Jenna treated me to this so called fine dining restaurant that's top in SG but their service is no where comparable of Japan's. Most SG staff service sux! Jenna also agreed that that restaurant didn't portray what a top fining eatery should be and also said that restaurants in the US are way way way way better. (Ok, I added too many 'way's)
It was getting late and we headed down to Akihabara.
We spent some time in one of the buildings in the picture buying lots of toys for ourselves. :D A LOT! Amounted to SGD400. Gulps. Akihabara is the land of toys and electrical gadgets.
The maids refuse to take pics with me. Tsk, kidding. They are not supposed to, for what reason I do not know.
Aiyah, Dan! I could have gotten a good shot of them!
Cannot liao lah, too many passerbys. By the way, the maids are always surrounded by men. I thought they were advertising their restaurant but when we went up to them, they said that they do not open a restaurant... seems like they offer some other services... =x
According to the guide book I borrowed, there's supposed to be a fairly good maid cafe but we walked so far and long and asked so many kind souls that we gave up searching. Just when we gave up, we saw a sign that has the English word 'Maid'. -.- We took the lift up but it was the back door. We had to climb 4 storeys of stairs just to reach the cafe... Forget it, we shall go somewhere else for dinner... Besides, we were carrying a very big 90cm bag (full of toys) too.
Sushi!!!! How can we miss out eating Sushi in Japan!!!!
Color plates.
Cola!!!!
Look at the generous serving of tuna... I told my friends about their serving and they just couldn't believe it. And for a plate of 2, it costs about SGD1.30 only. Generous topping, lesser rice, much tastier and cheaper than local ones.
No more glass Cola here!!!
Everyone ordered their share in Japanese directly to the chefs. I only know Ebiko and the chef had a little bit of difficulty understanding Dan. Haha.
