We went to the ROM office today to verify documents and gave a statutory declaration.
For those who are into 4D and TOTO, our queue number is 36. Today is 18 June 2008.
Time slot arranged for us is 830-930am.
There were some other younger couples when we were there. Dan pointed a couple who looked like they were just in their late teens/early 20s.
And then there were some with kids.
When it was our turn, a lovely lady attended to us and stated all the laws and asked us questions before we were made to say a declaration.
"I hereby solemnly declare that ....
I am at least 21 yrs of age..." and many other words that both of us can't seem to remember now.
We had to raise our right hand and read word for word with the lady listening to us.
=)
You know, a speech that declares that you have been a resident here, above 21, understand the law, and you know you will kena penalized if you give wrong info, etc.
After that the lady gave us our marriage cert and other documents to bring home. These are important documents to bring on our wedding day.
We walked out of ROM happily, hand holding hand, merrily. lol.
Grabbed lunch at Raffles City's foodcourt and headed down to our bridal studio to collect my gown and his suit.
And then we cabbed back home. =)
